People Who Knew Celebrities Before Fame Share What They Looked Like

“I went to school with Breanna Stewart, the current WNBA player. She graduated two years before me, and I never got to know her personally, but overall she was really cool and kind. In middle school, she came over and helped coach our after school basketball camp which lasted about a week. My freshman year of high school was her senior year, and I remember her had a class next to mine. It was a huge, crowded school, but it was so big, well-known, and friendly that it could easily squeeze through the crowds.”

“There were also a few times when the school would have an assembly or a pep rally, and they would act like it was for the whole women’s basketball team – but then something unexpected happened, like the folks at Gatorade coming to surprise Breanna with an award It was kind of crazy to know that we were part of sports history and going through things that weren’t part of most people’s experience in high school. I know a few girls who were on the team with her at the time, and I think they remained friends even as she rose to fame. It was fun, and I enjoyed watching her journey since graduating in 2012. Once a Northstar always a Northstar!”
